Rates and Insurance

You may use your health insurance benefits to pay for services, if covered, or you may self-pay (out-of-pocket).

If you have a health insurance policy, it is likely to include benefits for mental health treatment, including telehealth. Once your deductible has been met, your insurance would cover approved services and you would be responsible for a fixed co-payment, just as when you visit your medical provider. Though I am not on all insurance panels, many plans do provide some level of reimbursement for mental health treatment obtained "out-of-network." If you have an insurance plan in which I do not participate or am out-of-network and you intend to seek reimbursement for out-of-pocket payments, I will provide you with the appropriate receipts to submit with your claims. Please be aware, however, that your particular insurance plan may or may not include out-of-network benefits. I recommend that you check on this before filing claims.

I am currently contracted (in-network) with the following insurance plans:

  • Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield

  • HMO Blue

  • I do not accept Medicare/Medicaid or MassHealth products at this time.

Self-Pay Fee Schedule:

  • Diagnostic evaluation/consultation (60 minutes): $225

  • Psychotherapy session (50 minutes): $150

  • Evaluative, consultative, and training services are provided at different rates, available upon request.

Financial Policies:

Insurance Claims: If I'm in-network (i.e., a contracted provider) with your insurance company, I will be glad to file claims with your insurance company on your behalf   and "accept assignment" (payment) directly from them at the rate they set as "allowable." Though this contracted rate is typically lower than my full fee, you will not be billed for the difference.

Co-Payment/Co-Insurance: If you are using your health insurance benefits to pay for services, your co-pay or co-insurance is due at the time services are rendered.

Deductibles: If your insurance plan has a deductible which you haven't yet met, payment for services is required in full and will be "credited" toward your deductible when I file claims with your insurance company.

Self-Pay: If you do not have insurance, or I'm out-of-network with your insurance plan, or you wish to pay out-of-pocket for services, all payments are due in full at the time services are rendered.

Billing Arrangements: In the event that the responsible party is someone other than the patient (e.g., a spouse/partner, parent, attorney, etc.), they can be billed by special arrangement. Co-payments will not be billed.

Payment Method: Payment for Telepsychology services may be made remotely via Cash App, a mobile payment service. Instructions for using this app will be provided prior to your initial appointment. I do not accept direct credit or debit card payment at this time. However, Cash App provides the option to link a bank account, credit card, or debit card.

Cancellation Policy: Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you and, without sufficient notice of your cancellation, is a "lost hour" that cannot be made available to another patient. You will be charged for any scheduled appointment which is not cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours notice, regardless of reason, unless I'm able to fill your slot. The no-show/late cancellation fee will be billed directly to you, as a third party (insurance company) cannot be billed for your failure to keep your appointment.
