About Me

Welcome to my general adult Telepsychology practice, providing virtual mental health services across the state of Massachusetts. Expanding my reach and your access beyond geographic proximity enables us to work together safely, efficiently, and conveniently in the

comfort of your own environment. No longer are distance, busy work/school schedules, child- or elder-care responsibilities, illness, weather, mobility issues, or public health considerations barriers to accessing care. Services are provided online via a secure, user-friendly, HIPAA-compliant videoconferencing platform, accessible on any device. Flexible scheduling is available, as is

out-of-network insurance coverage.

I'm a licensed Clinical Psychologist, certified as a Health Service Provider in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. I received a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Davidson College (Phi Beta Kappa) and a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver. I completed a residency program at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center, a 1000-bed general hospital, where I received speciality training in Behavioral Medicine and Health Psychology. I'm listed in the National Register of Health Service Psychologists and possess the TCC (Telepsychology Competencies Credential) as well as the CPQ (Certificate of Professional Qualification in Psychology), granted by the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards. My professional affiliations include the American Psychological Association (APA) and the American Psychological Association Practice Organization (APAPO).

In my practice of 40+ years, I've served as a clinician in inpatient, outpatient, and community mental health facilities; directed and administrated several outpatient mental health clinics; directed a regional domestic violence/sexual assault agency; practiced as a forensic psychologist in both criminal and civil litigation; provided medical consultation/liaison services in primary care clinics, pain management and rehabilitation facilities, hospitals, and major medical centers; provided consultation services to businesses and organizations; served as Chief of Psychological Services as a Captain in the Medical Services Corps of the U.S. Air Force; contracted with law enforcement agencies to provide pre-employment screening, fitness-for-duty evaluation, and critical-incident response; contracted with the judicial system to assist victims of violent crimes; provided on-the-ground triage and crisis intervention to victims of natural disasters and other traumas; taught at six colleges and universities as an Adjunct Professor of Psychology; conducted psycho-educational classes and seminars for healthcare professionals, patients, and the general public on numerous health and wellness topics; and provided clinical training and supervision to graduate students, interns, and early career psychologists. For much of my career, I've taken care of patients in a private practice setting, the context in which you find me now. This is, and has been, my most deep and fulfilling work.

My general adult practice serves young adults through seniors and provides psychotherapy, psychological evaluation, diagnostic clarification, consultation, and training. I'm qualified to assess, diagnose, and treat the

entire spectrum of psychological disorders, including mood disorders (depression, bipolar), anxiety disorders (GAD, phobias, panic), obsessive-compulsive disorders, trauma-related disorders, eating disorders, personality disorders, impulse-control disorders, somatic symptom disorders, dissociative disorders, gender dysphoria, paraphilic disorders, adjustment disorders, and medicated psychotic disorders, as well as relational,

occupational, academic, health, identity, sexual, spiritual, bereavement, adjustment, and phase of life issues.

I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral medicine/health psychology (the application of psychological principles and practices to physical illness, health and wellness), and women's issues, especially women's health issues. I have particular expertise and interest in working with medical and mental health professionals, uniformed service professionals (military, veterans, law enforcement, first responders), clergy, LGBTQ+, college students/young adults, educators, and creative professionals (writers, visual and performing artists). I'm certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and employ a full range of additional evidence-based treatment modalities, providing a holistic, integrative approach to psychotherapy.
